SECO Energy Foundation Brings Stories to Life on the Trail with $5,000 Grant to Trout Lake Nature Center

Eustis, FL – The SECO Energy Foundation is proud to award a $5,000 grant to Trout Lake Nature Center (TLNC) in support of its StoryWalk® program, a unique project that blends outdoor exploration with literacy for children and families.

For 37 years, TLNC has been dedicated to conserving and protecting the natural environment while educating the public about its importance. Trout Lake Nature Center welcomes approximately 20,000 visitors annually to experience nature through hands-on programs and events.

The StoryWalk® initiative will install a series of 16 weather-resistant kiosks along a nature trail at TLNC, each displaying laminated pages from a children’s book. As families walk the trail, they’ll follow the story page-by-page, encouraging reading, observation, and a deeper connection to the natural world.
