SECO Energy Foundation Banner

We appreciate your interest in applying for a SECO Energy Foundation grant. Before you create an account in our Online Portal, please review the grant application guidelines, general parameters, sample questions and the types of charitable programs the Foundation supports to determine better if your program is a fit for funding and get a sense of what will be required to apply.

Grant Application Eligibility and Sample Questions

General Parameters

The Foundation will only consider organizations meet the following:

  • Tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) or a governmental unit described in Section 170(b)(1)(a)(v).
  • File form 990.
  • Financials are independently reviewed or audited on an annual basis.
  • Completed three or more years of continuous operation.
  • Grants are primarily awarded for programs serving residents in the following Florida counties:
    • Citrus
    • Hernando
    • Lake
    • Levy
    • Marion
    • Pasco
    • Sumter

To complete the Grant Application, here are some sample questions and items needed to apply:

  • Please provide a brief statement of the organization’s mission.
  • Please provide a brief overview of the program or project.
  • Please provide a practical and detailed plan and timeline for executing the project or program deliverables.
  • Please provide a detailed budget of how the grant funds from The SECO Energy Foundation will be used to support the program or project.
  • Please provide the statistics by county of individuals served and/or community impact of program or project.
  • Please describe the sustainability of the program or project once The SECO Energy Foundation funding ends.
  • Please describe the ability of the organization to complete the project or program on time and within the budget.
  • Please describe why you believe The SECO Energy Foundation is the right fit to provide for your program or project. (We are open to hearing creative ways in which you believe the SECO Energy Foundation can make a positive contribution to your organization).
  • You will have the option to upload a video that describes why you believe the SECO Energy Foundation is the right fit to provide for your program or project – 5 minutes maximum.

In completing the grant application, please be prepared to provide the following documents. If any are not applicable, can you explain why they do not apply to your organization?

  • W9
  • IRS 501(c)3
  • List of Board of Directors
  • Previous year’s financial audited/reviewed financial statement.
  • Current year financials (income statement & balance sheet
