SECO Energy Foundation Helps Umatilla Police Answer the Call with High-Tech Tools

Umatilla, FL – The SECO Energy Foundation has awarded the Umatilla Police Department a $20,010 grant to replace and upgrade its mobile data terminals (MDTs). These essential in-vehicle computers provide real-time access to dispatch information, records, and critical data, enabling faster response times, more accurate reporting, and enhanced officer safety.

The Umatilla Police Department serves a growing rural community of approximately 3,800 residents. Upgrading this technology ensures officers remain connected and fully equipped to meet the demands of modern law enforcement.

“Our MDTs are a lifeline in the field,” said Umatilla Police Chief David Seeley. “This grant from the SECO Energy Foundation gives our officers the reliable, up-to-date tools they need to respond quickly and keep our community safe. We are truly grateful for the Foundation’s investment in public safety.”

Matthew Roudabush, SECO Energy Foundation Board Member for District 9, added, “Supporting our local law enforcement is an investment in the safety and well-being of the entire community. We’re proud to help provide the technology Umatilla Police need to do their job efficiently and effectively.”

The SECO Energy Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local initiatives within the community. The Foundation provides grants to organizations that address the needs of the community, focusing on areas such as health and human services, public safety, veterans, STEM, energy, and education.
